How are air filters classified?
The standard specified four filter groups: Primary filter(coarse filter), medium filter, HEPA filter, ULPA filter.
Primary Filter(Coarse Filter)
Primary filter refers to the final filter in the sampling train that is used to separate the sampled particulate matter from the sampled stack gas.
The primary filter is primarily used to filter dust particles larger than 5 mm and is appropriate for primary filtration of air conditioning systems. Three types of primary filters are available: plate-style, folding-style, and bag-style. Filter materials include non-woven fabric, nylon mesh, activated carbon filter material, metal hole net, etc. The outside frame is made of paper, aluminum, and galvanized iron. Both double-sided galvanized wire mesh and double-sided sprayed wire mesh are used in the net.
Primary filter features
⒈Low price. The primary filter is the system's first line of defense against dust particles larger than 5μm. As a result, the primary filter is less expensive than other filters.
⒉High versatility.This style of efficiency filter is suited for basic air conditioning and ventilation systems that only need one level of filtration and is frequently utilized as the system's primary filtration.
⒊Lightweight. The main reason the primary air filter is so light in weight is that the material used to create it typically has low density and excellent stability properties, making it not only strong and long-lasting but also simple to install and repair. Stainless steel or an alloy of aluminum is typically used for the exterior frame. Stainless steel can adapt to various working settings and has strong stability and corrosion resistance. Aluminum alloy is more expensive but lighter in weight than stainless steel.
Medium Filter
The air filter's medium filter is a F series filter. F5: 40–50%, F6: 60–70%, F7: 75–85%, and F9: 85–95% are the filtering efficiencies.
Medium filter features
Strength, stability, resilience to wear and stretch, absorption, permeability, and cost are a medium filter's key characteristics. Because they are relatively simple to replace, disposable oil and air filters make up for their short lifespan with cost-effectiveness.
HEPA Filter
HEPA filter is the abbreviation for high efficiency particulate air filter. Theoretically, this kind of air filter can eliminate 99.97% or more of dust, pollen, mold, germs, and any other airborne particles smaller than 0.3 microns (m).
ULPA Filter
Ultra-Low Particulate Air is referred to as ULPA. It is characterized as being 99.9995% effective at removing particles with a diameter of less than 0.12 microns.

The selection of a primary, medium, HEPA air filter or ULPA air filter determines how the air filter should be set up to meet the performance needs in various situations. The assessment air filter has four primary qualities:
