The Accordion Paint Filter is a folded paperboard filter designed to capture paint overspray in dry spray booth exhaust systems. It is commonly used in industrial finishing processes where airborne paint droplets, varnish, lacquer, adhesive, or resin mist must be separated from the exhaust airflow before it reaches downstream equipment.
This Cardboard Spray Booth Filter uses two layers of perforated, pleated paperboard arranged to create offset openings and internal collection passages. As contaminated air passes through the filter, its direction changes repeatedly. Larger liquid droplets are separated through inertial impaction and adhere to the internal surfaces, while the remaining air continues through the outlet openings. This structure provides space for accumulated overspray and can help maintain airflow as contaminants collect, until the filter reaches its replacement limit.
The filter is suitable for compatible coating processes involving water-based or solvent-based paints, subject to material compatibility. Selected product designs can also accommodate elevated operating temperatures up to 180°C.
